Cookie Policy

How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, what each consent category does, and how you can change your choices at any time.

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how praneshnegi.com (the “site”, “we”, “I”) uses cookies and similar technologies, and the choices you have over them. It sits alongside the consent banner you saw when you first arrived. By “cookies” we mean both traditional cookies and closely related methods of storing small amounts of data in your browser, which this site uses to remember your consent choices.

This is a personal portfolio and analytics blog. We do not sell products, run user accounts, or collect data to build advertising profiles about you. The technologies described below are used to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so it can be improved.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let a site remember information between page loads or visits — for example, that you have already made a cookie choice. Some related methods store this information directly in your browser instead of sending it back to a server with every request. Throughout this policy, references to “cookies” include these similar technologies.

3. The categories you control

When you use the consent banner, you are choosing which of the following categories to allow. You can accept all, reject everything that isn’t essential, or open Preferences to toggle each one individually.

  • Necessary — Always on. These are required for the site to work and to remember your own privacy choice. They cannot be switched off, and they never track you across other websites.
  • Analytics — Optional. These help us understand which pages are read, how visitors move through the site, and where things can be improved. The data is aggregated and used only to make the site better.
  • Advertising — Optional. These support personalization and any measurement tied to advertising or campaign features. They load only if you allow this category. If no advertising features are active at the time of your visit, allowing this category simply has no effect.

4. How your consent choice is remembered

To avoid asking you on every page, the site saves your decision locally in your browser — not on any server, and never shared with a third party. What’s recorded is simply that you have made a choice, plus your on/off setting for each category. Clearing your browser’s site data (or using the re-open control described in Section 7) resets this and the banner will appear again.

5. Cookies and storage this site uses

The exact cookies present depend on the choices you make. The table below groups the main ones you may encounter by category and purpose.

Optional cookies only load in line with the consent you have given.

6. Consent-based loading and your region

This site loads optional cookies based on consent, which means analytics and advertising features respect your choice before they store anything. Your starting point depends on where you are:

  • EU/EEA, the UK, and Switzerland — Nothing in the optional categories runs until you actively opt in. This is an opt-in experience.
  • Everywhere else — Optional categories are on by default, and you can withdraw them at any time using Reject non-essential or Preferences. This is an opt-out experience.

Your region is determined from your approximate location (based on your IP address) at the time your visit is measured. Whichever region you are in, the banner’s Accept, Reject, and Preferences controls behave the same way and always reflect the choice you make.

7. How to change or withdraw your choice

You are always in control, and you can revisit your decision whenever you like:

  • Use the small cookie button that stays available on the page (labelled “Manage cookie preferences”) to re-open the preferences panel.
  • Toggle any optional category on or off, then save. Your new choice applies across the site immediately.
  • You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely — see your browser’s help pages for how. Blocking necessary cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

8. Third-party services

The optional analytics and advertising features rely on trusted third-party providers. When these are active, limited information about your visit may be processed by those providers under their own privacy and cookie policies, which you are encouraged to review. The consent banner and your saved preferences are served directly from this site — there are no third-party consent or fingerprinting services involved.

9. Changes to this policy

As the site evolves, this policy may be updated to reflect new tools or requirements. When it changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change too. Significant updates may also reset the banner so you can review your choices.
